about our council

We are a local parish council of the Knights of Columbus.  Washington Council was organized on December 19, 1909 through the efforts of a small group of Catholic gentlemen.  It is named after General George Washington, our great nation's first president.  Washington Council supports the following parishes: Our Lady of Mt. Carmel, Sacred Heart, and St. Charles Borromeo in Melrose Park.  Along with St. Eulalia in Maywood.  We do this by providing funds for various projects and by members being active participants in their parish, etc.  The community area we support includes Melrose Park, Stone Park and Maywood in Proviso Township and parts of Leyden Township.
